1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using Rig Cad, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use Rig Cad on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally capable of entering into this agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, safeguarding your credentials, and all activity performed through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. The Rig Cad service
Rig Cad provides browser-based tools for generating geometry, editing CAD models, storing projects, collaborating with other users, publishing models and articles, and exporting files for fabrication or other uses. Features may change as the service develops.
Engineering and fabrication notice: Rig Cad is a design tool, not a substitute for professional engineering review, safety testing, certification, or manufacturing quality control. You are responsible for validating dimensions, tolerances, materials, structural performance, print settings, and fitness for your intended use before manufacturing or relying on any output.
4. Your content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of models, project data, files, articles, comments, plugins, and other content you create or upload to Rig Cad (“User Content”).
You grant Rig Cad a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use your User Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup retention, content shared with others, and legal obligations.
When you mark content public or publish it, you authorize Rig Cad to make it available to other users and visitors. You are responsible for selecting the appropriate visibility and sharing settings and for having all rights necessary to upload and share the content.
Rig Cad and its licensors retain all rights in the service, software, branding, documentation, and other materials that are not User Content.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Rig Cad to:
- violate applicable law or another person’s rights;
- upload malware, malicious code, or content designed to disrupt the service;
- gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or non-public data;
- harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, or exploit another person;
- publish content that is unlawful, infringing, or intentionally deceptive;
- circumvent usage limits, access controls, security measures, or billing controls;
- scrape, overload, or automate access to the service in a manner that harms Rig Cad or other users; or
- use the service to design or produce items prohibited by applicable law.
We may remove content or restrict activity when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or maintain the security and reliability of the service.
6. Paid plans, billing, and invoices
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By starting a subscription, you authorize recurring charges at the price and interval shown at checkout, plus applicable taxes, until the subscription is canceled.
You can manage payment methods, invoices, plan changes, and cancellation through the Stripe-hosted customer portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Upgrades may be prorated immediately, while eligible downgrades may take effect at the next billing period.
Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change plan features or prices prospectively and will provide notice when required.
7. Third-party services
Rig Cad relies on third-party providers for services such as identity, cloud storage, hosting, payments, and infrastructure. Your use of third-party features may also be subject to those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
8. Availability, changes, and beta features
We work to keep Rig Cad available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, introduce limits, or perform maintenance. Preview, experimental, or beta features may change or fail and should not be relied on for production-critical work.
Maintain independent backups of important projects and exported files. Local-only browser data may be lost if you clear site data, change devices, or lose access to the browser profile where it is stored.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Rig Cad at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or misuse the service. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and payment obligations—will survive.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rig Cad is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that generated geometry, calculations, simulations, exports, community content, or third-party plugins are accurate, safe, manufacturable, or suitable for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rig Cad and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, production time, or business opportunity arising from the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Rig Cad during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to Rig Cad, the law, or our business practices. We will post the revised terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
