About this project
Parametric teddy bear
A sitting teddy bear built from blended spheres and capsules. Head, body, ears, arms, legs, feet and tail are smooth-unioned into one soft figure, then a tan muzzle, nose and bead eyes are added. The inner ears and the toe-bean foot pads are cut into the surface, and the bottom is trimmed flat at z = 0 so it sits on a print bed.
At the default size it is about 32 x 34 x 48 mm: one watertight body of roughly 19 cm³.
Parameters
- bearScale (0.5–3): overall size. 1 is about 48 mm tall.
- headSize (8–15 mm): head radius. Ears, eyes and muzzle follow it.
- bodySize (10–16 mm): body radius. The head sits on it, and arms and legs follow it.
- earSize (2.5–7 mm): ear radius.
- muzzleSize (3–7 mm): muzzle radius.
- eyeGap (6–13 mm): distance between the eye centres. Keep it under 1.6 × headSize.
- eyeSize (1–2.6 mm): eye bead radius.
- armAngle (0–80°): how far the arms reach forward from hanging straight down.
- legSplay (0–30°): how far the legs turn outward.
- blend (0–8 mm): blend width between the limbs and the body.
- prec (0.1–1 mm): sampling cell size. Smaller is smoother but slower.
- furColor, muzzleColor, padColor, eyeColor: fur, muzzle and inner ears, foot pads, and eyes and nose.
Printing
Print upright on the flat base. The forms are rounded, but the forward-pointing arms and legs may need light support at larger armAngle values. Lower prec to 0.15–0.2 for a final print.
