About this project
A flat triskele pendant: identical spiral arms wound out from a central hub, with a hanging loop on the tip of the arm nearest the top. Change the arm count and wind to get anything from a two-arm swirl to a six-arm pinwheel.
How it's built
- Arm - one smooth spiral whose radius grows evenly from the hub radius to the outer radius as it winds through the sweep angle, stroked to a constant width.
- Arms - a radial repeat copies the arm evenly around the centre; a hub disc joins them, with a blend fillet.
- Loop - placed on whichever arm tip is closest to the top, so the pendant always hangs from a tip whatever the arm count or sweep.
- Body - the outline is inflated into a slab with rounded edges.
Parameters
| Group | Slider | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Spiral | Outer radius | 10-40 mm overall size |
| Spiral | Hub radius | Where the arms start |
| Spiral | Arms | 2-6; 3 is the classic triskele |
| Spiral | Sweep | 180-450 degrees of wind per arm |
| Arms | Arm half-width, blend | Line weight and the fillet at the hub and loop |
| Hanging loop | Loop / hole radius | Fits the chain or cord |
| Body | Thickness | Slab thickness, with rounded edges |
The Gap between arms readout shows roughly how much open space is left between neighbouring arms. When it drops to zero, the arms fuse; thin the arms, lower the sweep or use fewer arms to open it up.
Printing
