About this project
A smooth capsule-shaped trinket box with a drop-in lid. The lid plate sits flush in a recessed seat, its top carries a soft flowing ripple, and a finger notch at one end lets you lift it out.
How it's built
- Base - a rounded capsule body with the storage cavity cut out above a flat floor. A wider, shallow recess at the top leaves an inner ledge for the lid, and a spherical scoop at one end forms the finger notch.
- Lid - a flat plate the size of the seat minus clearance, topped with a scalar-field ripple relief that fades out before the edge.
Parameters
| Group | Control | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Size | Length, width, height | 80-190 × 55-120 mm, 20-60 mm tall; length stays at least 10 mm over the width |
| Construction | Rim wall, floor | Upper rim wall and base thickness |
| Lid fit | Seat width, lid thickness, clearance | Ledge width, lid and recess depth, and per-side gap (0.2-0.65 mm) |
| Relief | Height, spacing, bend | 0-5 mm ripple height, distance between ripples, and how much they wave |
| Display | View mode | Assembled, or lid raised for a look inside |
| Resolution | Quality | Draft / Standard / Fine |
Printing
The base and lid are separate bodies: print the base upright and the lid flat side down. Neither needs supports. Fit depends on your printer, so test-print the lid clearance before a batch.
