About this project
A parametric Gridfinity bin, built to the community dimensions rather than approximated.
Size: 1x1 to 8x8 grid units, 2 to 20 height units. Bins come out at exactly 42n - 0.5 mm per side (a 2x1 is 83.5 mm, not 83.0) and n x 7 mm tall, with the stacking lip on top of that.
The foot is the real spec profile: 0.8 / 1.8 / 2.15 mm stacked chamfers with R0.8 / R1.6 / R3.75 corners, over the 2.25 mm bridge that makes the base a true 7 mm. The stacking lip uses the matching 0.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 mm counter-profile so bins nest properly.
Options:
- Compartments, up to 6 x 6, with a 45 degree self-supporting chamfer under the lip
- Wall thickness and extra floor thickness
- Stacking lip on or off
- Label shelf, adjustable depth and underside angle (36 degrees default, self-supporting)
- Scoop, adjustable radius, tangent to both the floor and the front wall
- Magnet pockets (6.5 x 2.4 mm, for 6 x 2 mm magnets) and M3 screw holes, at the spec +/-13 mm corner positions
The lip tip is truncated 0.6 mm so the rim has a flat top instead of a true knife edge, which is neither printable nor representable as clean mesh geometry.
Verified watertight across configurations: zero boundary edges, zero non-manifold edges, zero degenerate triangles, genus 0.
Pairs with the Gridfinity Baseplate Generator.
