About this project
A flattened teardrop vase pierced by an open arch. The body tapers from a wide, rounded belly to a slim neck, and a round-bottomed opening with a pointed roof passes straight through it from front to back.
How it's built
- Body - a revolved teardrop profile, warped into a flattened oval so it reads wide from the front and slim from the side.
- Interior - a matching inner revolve, inset by the wall, hollows the vase from the neck down both sides of the arch to a flat floor.
- Arch - a round opening cut through the body, its roof rising to a point at the chosen angle so it prints without supports. A solid sleeve around the opening and a solid core over the base keep the hollow sealed off from the arch.
