About this project
A rounded-rectangle catch-all tray with a topographic island rising from its floor - terraced contours, fading ripples or organic contour lines around a three-lobed island shape.
How it's built
- Base and rim - a flat structural floor plus a raised rim with a 45° bevel on top.
- Island - three overlapping circles of different sizes form one editable island outline.
- Relief - a live heightmap node turns the island's distance field into a height map in the chosen style, with a blank border that keeps the decoration clear of the rim. It sits on the floor, cropped to the tray's inside outline. The relief is decoration only; the floor carries the load.
Parameters
| Group | Control | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions | Width, depth, height, corner | 100-190 × 80-150 mm, 9-20 mm tall, 15-35 mm corner radius |
| Base & rim | Base, rim, bevel | Floor 2.4-5 mm, rim wall 4-8 mm, 0.3-1 mm top bevel |
| Relief | Lift, backing, border | Relief height above the floor (0.4-3 mm), embedded backing, and blank margin from the rim |
| Texture | Mode, spacing | Terraced island, Fading ripples or Organic contours; 4-12 mm contour spacing |
| Texture | Noise, scale, seed | Organic mode only: distortion amount, size of the broad bends, and a repeatable seed |
Sliders guard themselves: the tray keeps at least 5 mm of height above the floor and 3 mm of rim above the relief.
Printing
Print flat on its underside; the relief and rim bevel need no supports. Made for dry small items, not food contact.
