About this project
A fluffy cloud cookie cutter: a thin cutting blade with a wide flange around the top to press on. Change the size, how puffy the bumps are and how soft the notches between them look, then set the blade and flange to suit your dough. Prints flange-down in one piece, no supports.
How it's built
- Cloud outline - a rounded base with four circles on top, blended together in 2D. Every position and radius is a fraction of the cloud width, so the shape scales as one.
- Blade - the outline grown outward by the wall thickness and extruded to the blade height. The cloud width is the inside of the blade, i.e. the cookie size.
- Flange - the same outline grown by the flange width, a few millimetres thick, at the bed. It stiffens the blade and gives your palm something to press.
Parameters
| Group | Slider | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Cloud width | 30-100 mm cookie |
| Shape | Puff | Size of the bumps (0.8-1.4) |
| Shape | Blend | Softens the notches where bumps meet |
| Cutter | Wall | Blade thickness - thinner cuts cleaner |
| Cutter | Blade height | Taller for thick dough |
| Cutter | Flange width, thickness | The rim you press on |
Printing
Print flange-down, no supports. A wall of 0.8-1.2 mm (two perimeters on a 0.4 mm nozzle) cuts cleanly. Use PLA or PETG; hand-wash only - dishwashers warp printed plastic. For food contact, use a food-safe filament and replace the cutter if the layer lines get worn.
